It has been providing a combination of development and labour market policy expertise since 1980. The Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) sources and places European experts – and others experts from outside Europe who have settled in Germany – in developing countries and emerging economies; offers a network for those who have migrated to Germany and who wish to support development in their country of origin; advises individuals and policy-makers on migration issues. Our main client is the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). We also receive commissions from other German federal ministries, international organisations and the European Union. What we stand for : https://www.cimonline.de/en/html/about-cim.html CIM stands for expertise on international labour mobility and migration. We believe that the expertise acquired by individuals (individual expertise) offers tremendous potential for development – whether through our placement services, networks or advisory services. In the right place and at the right time, just one person can provide the momentum needed to bring about crucial changes and pave the way for innovation. Hence our motto: 'One person can make a difference'. All our work is guided by global development goals (sustainable development goals SDG?). We aim to promote the positive impact of migration and global labour mobility in order to improve the prospects of people living in developing countries and emerging economies. What makes us different : G3TUP We help to drive change in our partner countries by sourcing personnel with the required skills. We place experts in key roles all over the world and help put the issue of migration on the global agenda. We strengthen the bridges between Germany and its partner countries and promote forms of cooperation from which we all benefit. We develop innovative ideas so that knowledge can flow where it is needed and make a lasting contribution to development in our partner countries. Providing development expertise for CIM : https://www.cimonline.de/en/html/about-giz.html Within CIM, GIZ staff are responsible for implementing international cooperation projects on behalf of the German Federal Government. This typically involves finding a suitable European expert for an assignment with an employer in the development field and ensuring that the assignment produces a sustainable impact. In turn, CIM benefits from GIZ's experience in many different areas, including economic development, job creation, energy, the environment, and peace and security. GIZ's approach in its CIM role is to harness the potential of migration for development. As a federal enterprise, it works on various regional and thematic priorities within the context of migration and labour mobility by, for example, establishing partnerships with diaspora groups, providing advice on migration and migration policy and planning CIM's development services. International Placement Services (ZAV) is a division of the German Federal Employment Agency and one of the two partners that make up CIM. ZAV has over 35 years' experience in the field of international recruitment. International Placement Services (ZAV) advises employees and employers in many different sectors of the economy. Its services are targeted at specific groups and cover the recruitment of international personnel, managers and artists. ZAV helps employers all over Germany to find the right people for their vacancies and helps employees integrate into the German labour market. https://www.cimonline.de/en/html/about-zav.html Within CIM, the role of International Placement Services (ZAV) is to find skilled personnel and experienced managers from the German and European labour market who are interested in working abroad. As well as advertising vacancies and marketing CIM's placement service, ZAV is responsible for shortlisting appropriate candidates. It also provides advice and support on migration issues. The ZAV team organises presentations, trade fair appearances and seminars aimed at specific diaspora groups in Germany and those interested in migrating.
