Scheduling tips for working remotely
Monday, June 5, 2023
Hey Isaac,

It is said that the home is a sanctuary, but it could also be your money-making nest if you chose to make it one. While many people are choosing to work from the comfort of their houses and are succeeding, others are struggling to create a work schedule that helps them make the most from their day. So, how can you make your remote working story a success? It all comes down to how you plan your day, and these tips will help you get there.
Manage unexpected distractions
Top on the challenges that remote workers face is handling distractions and working on tasks that were not on their schedule. Sometimes you get up with great psyche, only for the internet to go down and at that moment, your routine leaves through the window. The best way of dealing with unscheduled tasks and distractions is to assess its importance. You may do it, delegate it, or schedule it for a later date or time.
l Do it- it applies to pressing matters that must be dealt with at that particular moment. Tasks that affect your income directly should be top on the list.
l Schedule it- as for the to-dos that pop up but can be managed later, just schedule them
l Delegate it- if you have more important tasks to do, find someone else to manage the distraction; as long as it is not critical
Schedule and organize your day
Whether your typical day involves delivering goods or writing online content, you can still plan your activities. A freelance writer should set aside time for writing, bidding and communicating with clients. A virtual assistant requires time to run social media accounts and other activities.
Although remote working is meant to allow flexibility, it pays to have a routine for the activities you do daily. A schedule will create a habit, such that you will not have to think about what you should do. Whenever you schedule tasks, ensure you stick to them. If you are good at procrastinating, it's time you reviewed your schedule.
