Dear Prospective Parent,

We are pleased to know of your interest in Neighborhood School (NS). Since our

beginning in 1986, NS has involved children in a unique learning community as a private,

alternative school with a family-like atmosphere. Our student body includes children who are

4½ through 12 years old and representative of Boston’s neighborhoods. A team of excellent

teachers and 60 children at 2 adjacent sites share the joy of learning. Students spend an average

of two years within each of our four homeroom levels, developing skills and learning as they are

ready while exploring many topics. Curriculum components include literacy, mathematics,

science, social studies, art, music, drama, physical education, technology projects, life skills, and

personal development.

⺠All prospective parents are invited to see our students in action as follows:

NS Learning Fair, Wednesday, April 5th and Thursday, April 6th at 7:00 p.m at

Covenant Congregational Church in Jamaica Plain. Admission is free; the event is appropriate

for adults and children, and involves hands-on learning and exploration.

We hope you find the above helpful as you consider learning opportunities for your child.

Best wishes,

Tricia Morrow, Director nsadmissions@gmail.com

Updated 8/24/2016
Dear Prospective Applicant,
Thank you for taking an interest in applying for the position of Mentor
Teacher in The Mentor Program: An APS/ATF Partnership. I have enclosed a
Mentor Teacher application and one copy of the reference form. Please note you
will need to make more copies of the reference form.
The application form and all references should be submitted to the Mentor
Office as soon as possible in order for applicants to be interviewed and matched
with a beginning teacher. Mentors are assigned a beginning teacher dependent
upon each school’s need. As a reminder, applicants chosen as mentors may not be
matched with a beginning teacher for the coming year. A differential of $2000 is
paid to mentors who are assigned a first-year teacher for an entire year. A mentor
assigned to a beginning teacher after the first nine weeks will receive a prorated
differential. If not matched with a beginning teacher this year, your name will
remain in the mentor pool for possible assignment next year.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Mentor Program at
253.0335. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bianca Belmonte-Sapien, M.A., NBCT, Ed.S
Program Coordinator
The Mentor Program: An APS/ATF Partnership
Lincoln Complex 912 Oak St SE, Building M Albuquerque, NM 87106 Phone 505.253.0335
email: mentorprogram@aps.edu Website: http://www.aps.edu/departments/mentor-program-for-teachers
The Mentor Program: An APS/ATF Partnership
