Computers: We provide computers for student use in the student lounge, and students will not require a laptop for their classwork. If you do wish to bring a laptop, however, wifi is available in local cafés. Finally, please remember that YOU will be responsible for carrying your own luggage at all times, so try to be as realistic as possible about what you will need. Electricity in France Please keep in mind that electricity in France is different than in the U.S. Thus, please do not bring irons, hair dryers, or other electrical equipment. Even with a transformer, they will often short out. If necessary, cheap appliances can be bought in France and used just for the month. Checklist 1. ion to a new student assessment system, called
Tk20
, for students in selected programs.
First and foremost, TK20 provides a toolkit that he
lps you showcase your educational experience,
growth, proficiencies, and accomplishments. Also,
Tk20 connects your experience to ongoing
professional development as an alumnus/a and provid
es continued access after graduation.
Specifically, the Tk20 system enables you to:
1.
Upload or create required files and assignments (te
xt, video, and audio) online that will be
available for access and use beyond graduation. Fac
ulty and cooperating professionals are able
to assess your work in the system and provide annot
ated feedback directly on document and
video files. This feature allows you to present doc
umented performance data and information to
prospective employers, who are increasingly interes
ted in data-supported evidence of an
individual’s current and potential performance.
2.
Easily access a fully documented record of your int
ernship or field experience and any artifacts
or evaluations associated with your work in these a
reas of practice.
3.
Complete program and field experience evaluations i
n the Tk20 platform to provide feedback to
faculty and cooperating professionals in schools an
d agencies.
4.
Create multimedia electronic portfolios, documentin
g your work for presentation to faculty and
prospective employers. This may be of great benefit
to you as you seek your first job or if you
are working on professional advancement by enabling
you to build your electronic career
portfolio over time.
5.
Help support our institutional and program-level ac
countability and reporting to stakeholders
and accreditors.
Beginning this fall, Tk20 will be implemented with
all counselor education students. In spring 2016, t
he
Tk20 system will be required for all students newly
admitted to initial licensure and advanced
preparation licensure programs.
A one-time $100 student subscription fee* is requir
ed for use of Tk20. Please review the attached tab
le
to determine if the subscription requirement applie
s to you and your program. Students admitted for
the spring 2016 semester for the programs indicated
are required to purchase a seven-year Tk20
subscription, which will be assessed as part of the
university tuition and fees billing system.
