We welcome many new members to our school community, both children and staff , and I am sure we will all get to know each other very quickly. We have had a very busy summer with building works, ICT upgrades and a new sound system in the school hall. We are organising a "Grounds Day" to ensure our gardens and planters are ready for winter. Details will follow shortly. Congratulations Miss Pratt, and her partner James, welcomed their baby boy, Jack, during the summer holidays. I know you will join with me in wishing the whole family well. Teacher Training and Development Days T he scho ol will not be open to children on Wednesday 2 2 nd October Further dates for the Autumn term will follow shortly. Collective Worship And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them (Luke 6:31) This term's theme for Collective Worship is Friendship. Christians believe that they can call God their friend because of the relationship made possible through Jesus. We will be looking at why people chose to be friends; how we can cope when friends fall out and trusting our friends. Children wil l have the opportunity to develop these themes furt her in PSHCE. Whole School Topic To mark the centenary of World War One, the whole school will be learning about life during this period. Each class will be looking at this topic uniquely. We also have a number of workshops organised for all the children, including drama with a WW1 soldier. Attendance Please can I remind you that the school doors open at 8:45am. Children should be in their classrooms and ready to learn at 8:55am. If your child is not in school or likely to be late, it is essential that you inform the office as soon as possible. Welcome to Mrs Fisher We we lcome Mrs Fisher to our staff team as Interventions teacher. Mrs Fisher will be working with Mrs Hinder and classteachers to support children throughout the school. Reflection Area We have set up a reflection area in the front entrance. With Harvest a pproaching, we reflect on those who are not as fortunate as ourselves. We ask the question, what do you have that you could share with somebody today? Please take the time to share your ideas in our reflection space.
