Dear Imago Dei Fund Partner:
I am excited to share the outcome of our 2018 strategic planning process. Thank you for your
patience as we took a pause for critical reflection.
IDF’s Strategic Focus 2018-2021
Per my prior message, Imago Dei Fund’s mission will continue as it is:
Motivated by our faith and a commitment to the inherent dignity and common humanity of all
people, we invest around the world in visionary and impactful organizations working to advance
universal human rights, gender balance, justice and spiritual holism. Our mission is to co-create
a more just and more free world in which all human beings can thrive and flourish together.
Over the next three years, IDF will be focusing its funding and support primarily in the following
areas:
Supporting Women and Girls to Thrive and Flourish: Working alongside partners who are
removing barriers and increasing access for women and girls in education, health, and the
economy, so that they can reach their full potential. We also seek to partner with those
addressing human rights issues for women and girls including sex-trafficking, slavery, and
gender-based violence as well as supporting refugees.
Church as Change Agent: Supporting efforts to engage the prophetic energy of faith to create
gender balance, improve the lives of the most marginalized, and provide soul care.
Being a Good Neighbor in Boston: Support community-driven development efforts in our own
backyard and work with churches and NGOs to tackle human rights issues at home and around
the world.
While we are excited to work in each of these areas distinctly, we are particularly excited to
partner with organizations working at the intersections of these areas:

Selection Criteria
In addition to alignment with one or more of the above themes, we will apply three lenses to our
decision-making processes based on our values:
Gender Balance: A world where inequalities persist is a world out of balance. We partner with
organizations with active strategies to co-create a world where the masculine and the feminine
exist in balance, mutuality, and justice.
Faith/Inspiration: Motivated by our Christian faith, our love of humanity, and our shared
commitment to accomplish good things together, we partner with visionary and impactful
organizations to restore the imago dei (“image of God”) in our world where it is most
threatened and vulnerable.
Community-Driven Development: We are particularly led to holistic approaches which tap into
and unleash a process of indigenous-led, community-driven social transformation, addressing
the needs of the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—and seeking to address the deeper roots
of underlying humanitarian problems.
The following explains a bit more about how we are rolling out this new strategy.
 If you are a current grantee partner whose grant ended in 2017 and you have not
received an additional grant since then, we are currently reviewing your materials
including your final report. We will be in touch in the next month about whether you are
invited to submit another funding proposal.
 If you are a current grantee partner whose grant has ended in 2018 or will end in
2018, we will be reviewing your materials over the summer and will be in touch before
September about whether you are invited to submit another funding proposal.
 If you are a prospective grantee partner interested in developing a relationship with
Image Dei Fund, we are interested in learning about your organization. Feel free to
email us with information. We will start having more formal introductory calls later this
fall and will likely begin granting for new partners in early 2019.
